About Fancy Terrible Clothing

Fancy Terrible Clothing made it's debut as Seattle's Premier Gothic Lolita Clothing Line in 2010. The West Coast  had slowly begun to catch on to the Lolita trend that has been overwhelmingly popular in Japan for many years. Seattle had not been well-known for this style of clothing and we were the first to bring it to the forefront of Seattle's dark fashions. Our designs specialize in Fancy Embellishments-The Devil is in The Details!

We have since moved on from the original Lolita theme the company started but still allow it to influence us. We continue to create edgy, delightfully dark and whimsical designs that can be merged with streetwear to create a unique look all your own. Style for everyone!

Our inspirations are drawn from nature, pop culture (ironic? not so much) and a profound desire to be different from what is seen every day, everywhere. There is no right or wrong way to wear our clothes. Choose your own adventure and dare to be different.  Be Fancy! Be Terrible! Be Terribly Fancy All The Time if you wish. Be sure to send us your pictures for our Fan Appreciation Album on Facebook!

Fancy Terrible Clothing creates "Fancy Clothes for Terrible People". You may recognize part of the company name from a famous quote by Dorothy Parker: "This wasn't just plain terrible, this was fancy terrible. This was terrible with raisins in it." Our Designer happened upon the quote one dreadfully dark and terrible day and knew it described her first collection's vision. It reflected her mood in that fateful moment when she embarked on creating her own edgy clothing line to decorate the streets of Seattle. And, of course, ultimately, The World.

Our Vision is to bring Fancy Clothing to Terrible People. Many people understand the common misconception that anyone who is "different" is considered Terrible and that we ought to change to reflect the mainstream. If we are going to be deemed spooky, let's at least look stunning in the process! Society may not understand our differences but they'll envy our clothes! We believe there is a beautiful darkness in all of us and this company is our  interpretation of what we'd like to see become a new trend of fashion for Seattle. Let's play Dress Up EVERYDAY!
